    Directions

  • Retinol Skin Brightener is a high-potency retinol treatment. If you have not been using retinol, begin use gradually.

    Following cleansing, apply to clean, dry skin twice a week

    • Increase frequency to alternate days
    • Then, increase use to every day as tolerated

    Anticipated Reactions

    Redness, flakiness, dryness, burning, or stinging are all normal, anticipated reactions when starting retinol. With regular product use, skin will acclimate, revealing a smoother, more even-toned and youthful-looking complexion. Pair your retinol with a ZO® functional hydrator to minimize anticipated reactions. Consult a physician for customized retinol protocol. Like prescription retinoic acid, retinol will make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Wear SPF 30 or higher daily.

Apply 1-2 pumps to clean, dry skin
To minimize irritation and build tolerance, start with 2-3x/week and work up to daily use.
If using with other ZO products layer as follows: Cleanse+/-Exfoliate,Tone, Daily Power Defense, Retinol, Brightalive, Hydrator, 10% Vitamin C, Growth factor Serum, Sunscreen.
This product will make you more sun-sensitive so be sure to use a sunscreen during the day.
These products will also cause some anticipated reactions (flaking, redness, itching, dryness, burning & irritation) – These are good signs of repair and will dissipate as skin becomes stronger and more tolerant of the product. These reactions can easily be controlled by adjusting the program strength.

Caution
Do not use if you are pregnant, lactating or planning to become pregnant. Mild redness, peeling and irritation are expected when using this product. Use a daily sun protection with SPF 30 or higher and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week following discontinuation. If excessive redness and irritation occurs please stop use and contact your doctor.
